We are bringing a real cinema experience to Scalby Temperance Hall each month with new releases, classic movies and hollywood blockbusters on the big screen. With only 60 seats available for each screening, we advise early booking through our online system to avoid disapointment.

All patrons over 18 can bring their own tipple such as wine, beer, but don’t bring glasses as we will supply those. We will also have a range of snacks that you can buy on the night, but we do ask patrons to refrain from bringing their own food into the cinema.

A Real Cinema Experience

Our "popup cinema" is the real deal. The big screen experience anywhere you can imagine. In a forest, on a boat, or in this case the Temperance Hall Scalby.

We use a 7000 lumen e-cinema projector for super bright high definition visuals on a 4 meter wide screen, and a 4000w Bose F1 line array sound system for super high quality sound.  Our movies are played from crystal clear HD BluRay disks by experienced technicians.

The Temperance Hall is a historic venue in the centre of Scalby Village, Near Scarborough. Built in 1894, redesigned and refurbished in 2019 the hall is a the centre of Village life. As well as being the home to many small businesses, the hall hosts music and cinema events as well as classes and community groups.
